Meet the All-New EV3

The 2027 Kia EV3 made its North American debut at the 2026 New York International Auto Show as Kia’s compact, approachable electric SUV. Built on Kia’s 400V E-GMP electric platform, it brings the bold, confident design language of the larger EV9 — including the signature Star Map lighting and Tiger Face front end — into a right-sized package for city driving and daily commutes. Final specifications and trim availability are preliminary and set by the manufacturer, so some details will firm up closer to launch.

Range & Charging

The EV3 offers a choice of two battery options to match how far you drive:

  • Standard-range 58.3 kWh battery (Light trim) — front-wheel drive.
  • Long-range 81.4 kWh battery (Wind, Land, GT-Line, GT) — delivering up to a Kia-estimated 320 miles of range on certain trims.

A native NACS charging port comes standard, giving access to a wide fast-charging network, along with Plug & Charge capability for simple, plug-in-and-go sessions. Kia estimates a 10–80% DC fast charge in as little as 29 minutes with the standard-range battery and about 31 minutes with the long-range battery. Range and charging figures are preliminary manufacturer estimates, not official EPA ratings, and will vary with conditions.

Trims & Performance

The 2027 EV3 will be offered in five trims — Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT — so there’s a version for efficiency-minded commuters and another for drivers who want more spirit. All-wheel drive is available on Wind and Land and standard on GT-Line and GT. The performance-focused EV3 GT produces an estimated 288 horsepower and adds features like available Virtual Gear Shift and Active Sound Design for a more engaging drive.

Technology & Everyday Utility

Inside, the EV3 features a standard panoramic display with dual 12.3-inch screens plus a 5-inch climate display — nearly 30 inches of combined digital real estate, the same setup found on the EV9 — running Kia’s ccNC connected-car system with over-the-air update capability, plus standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Available segment-up features include a head-up display, a 360° Surround-View Monitor, a Blind-Spot View Monitor, and multicolor ambient lighting. One of the EV3’s most useful tricks is available Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, which turns the SUV into a power source for laptops, appliances, e-bikes, and more (V2L requires separately sold equipment). For cargo, the EV3 offers a generously sized area — about 56.5 cubic feet behind the first row and 26.1 cubic feet behind the second — plus a small front trunk. Driver-assistance features are not a substitute for safe and attentive driving, and some features are available on select trims only.
